Well my dabbling in the American Civil War continues with the completion of a second regiment, and two additional regiments partly completed. I have found because the period is something that I have never really been interested in I have thoroughly enjoyed the painting experience. The next two regiments are Louisiana Zouves, that have been interesting to paint.
I cant actually decide if I should progress the project into a major one simply because Colin already has large armies. However I am keen to paint up some rebel cavalry and the odd artillery battery. I suppose the best thing to do is just see where the project takes me. Still a nice way to spend the odd painting period. The figures are a mix of Perry and Foundry, both are fine ranges.
The Independent Wargames Group. Being a Journal of views, prejudices, ideas and photographs of wargaming not just nationwide, but hopefully world wide. The name IWG was adopted in the early 1980's in response to the then dominant Wargames Research Group, but things have moved on, and wargaming appears to be in somewhat of a Golden Age, so sit back and hopefully enjoy my rantings.

DeleteGreat looking figures, nice unit, of course you could get the Perry game in a box, very good value and you like putting together Perry plastics?
ReplyDeleteBest Iain
Yes and no Iain, I seem to get a lot of glue on my fingers, and the heads always look a bit odd.
DeleteThey are looking very nice Robbie 👍
ReplyDeleteNeil,
DeleteJust for your information, the unpainted movement trays are only a temporary thing. They are actually for my Renaissance cavalry.
They look superb, great poses and beautiful paint job!
ReplyDeleteThanks Phil, its nice to do something a bit different.

DeleteI am now waiting for some images from one of your ACW games.
I will ask John (when he gets back from holiday) if we can have a big ACW game. I will get the collection out the loft. You could always join us and get your troops on the table Robbie.
DeleteThat would be absolutely great.
