Basing.

The recruitment of my rebel forces has lagged behind the reinforcements that I received from the bold Jim Sweeny but I have managed to complete this unit of Perry Miniatures resplendent with early uniforms.I just cant seem to make my efforts look 'rebel' enough, I must admit I have always liked to exaggerate the colours of historical units, simply to catch your eye when viewed.

I have also finished basing one of the Hinchliffe/Echelon Miniature units. They are waiting for their standards but I do like them. They are a mish mash of figures that are over 30 years old, maybe  should call them my Old Guard. The Steve Hezzlewood figures stand out from the older Pete Gilder ones, but I like them both for different reasons.

I also finished basing a Redoubt Miniatures Iron Brigade unit, courtesy of Jim, they are brutes but have a lot of life in them. The Union is gathering pace.

  2. Extremely pretty figures! The call to mind some ACW figures photographed at the old WHC that appeared in issue 6 or 7 of Miniature Wargames.

    Best Regards,

    1. If only that was the case Stokes, I have seen some of that army in the flesh and they are still wonderful.

As for the vibrant colours you are using, I for one really like the style and look, excellent work again!

    1. Neil,
I just cant bring myself to dull down my figures, even though that would be more accurate. The Redoubt figures are pretty impressive though.

    1. Jim,
Youve helped a lot with your contingent. Now if you'll just hand over your renaissance figures then I would be happy. [I do literally hand over the figures by the way.]
